Perfect Beef Stock Recipe: How To Make Your Own Broth

You can make great smoke barbecue right on the kettle grill that you probably already own. A kettle grill are the type of outdoor barbecue grill made famous by the Weber Company. Almost everybody has one, or at least their Dad did. It is very easy to set up an outdoor kettle grill to be used as a smoker.

There is definitely not a fresh produce market in the small town of Lee Vining, so I asked Matt where it comes from. He said that most of it is from California's Central Valley (on the other side of the Sierra Nevada), shipped down Highway 395 daily from Reno. The mangoes and bananas which were conspicuous in the Muesli with Fresh Fruit (along with delicious raspberries) come from further, via Reno.

One meal I have never managed to make to my satisfaction is Hilachas. Literally called Rags, in many places in the US now we find a similar dish called Ropa Vieja, or Old Clothes. It is a stew made with a slow cooker pot roast that has been cooked and then shredded into strings, and thus the name. It is mixed into a sauce with a tomato base and usually served with rice and of course, tortillas.

Place the roast on a piece of aluminum foil that is big enough to wrap around the roast. Put the foil and the roast on the bottom of the Slow Cooker. Put the mushroom soup (undiluted) into a small bowl and stir the onion soup mix into it. Spread this mixture over the roast. Wrap foil over the roast. Put 1 cup hot water in the bottom of the Slow Cooker. Cook for 8-10 hours on medium low.

Oatmeal, my third food, is packed with fibre and whole-grain goodness. Avoid the processed, high-sugar, quick to cook junk that is so readily available, and stay with the Slow Cooking oats. Eat it raw with milk, seeds, berries, nuts and natural sweetner or cooked with cinnamon and natural sweetner or with berries, nuts and seeds. And you have a plateful of goodness to start the day and keep you going all morning.

Mildred believes in the importance of quality food with a personal touch. She personally attends every event she caters, and she provides everything her clients need from dinnerware to servingware to table linens and skirting. The only things she does not provide are tables, chairs, and flowers. She even provides waitstaff, sets up, cleans up, and packs up food all as part of her quality service, in which she takes immense pride. Her goal is that the client does not have slow roast beef worry about a thing and can enjoy the event.

Cut a small pie pumpkin in half and scrape out seeds and strings. Place halves cut side down in a baking dish and bake 325 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Alternately, place the halves cut side down in a dish filled with 1/2" water and cook in the microwave for 10-12 minutes, or until flesh is easily pierced. Peel the skin and puree in a blender or food processor, adding a little water if needed. Refrigerate the pulp till you're ready to use it. Use any leftovers to make pumpkin bread, dessets, soups or sneak it into pasta sauce.
